Management Team Biographies

General Manager - Neal Grist

Neal started his career at Portsmouth Golf Centre. For the past 18 years, he held successive and increasing roles at the Meon Valley Golf Club as Club Professional, Golf Operations Manager and finally Director of Golf. 

In addition to this, Neal has worked for the PGA National Training Academy in tutoring and assessing trainee Golf Professionals.

Joining the team as General Manager of SPGC earlier this year we very much look forward to many years with Neal onboard. 

Assistant Manager - Claire Jackson

Claire joined the team in 2016 as the Assistant to the General Manager. Promoted to Assistant Manager in early 2018 she provides administrative support to the Club and its members. Supporting the General Manager in their duties. 

Head Golf Professional - Mark Smith

PGA Professional with over 30 years experience in playing and teaching golf. Starting his professional career at Seaford Golf Club progressing to various Clubs across the South Coast. Mark Joined the SPGC team in 2016 and is supported by his assistant Adam Pointer, Junior Organiser.

Head of Catering - Lisa Gardiner

Lisa joined the SPGC team in 2000 as Head of Catering and went on to manage various Clubs before rejoining the team in 2017. WIth Lisa's vast experience in hospitality in the golfing world, she is the person to make your event memorable. Lisa is supported by a dedicated team. 

Course Manager - Jim Fancey

Having spent several years at Rowlands Castle as Deputy Head Greenkeeper Jim joined the SPGC team in 2015 as Head Greenkeeper and has since been promoted to Course Manager. Jim is supported by the dedicated Greenkeeping Team; Graham Sharpe, Beverly Blair, Jason Hodge, Charlie Collins and Mike King.
